The Evolve Showrooms Ltd. founder - Ivanna Gecelter -is a fiercely independent entrepreneur, with goals to revitalize the Canadian retail industry and keep up with the excitement of the world market. After getting her formal education in Fashion Business Management back in 2010, Ivanna has proved herself as a successful salesperson for many top wholesalers over the last 12 years, catering to all kinds of brands and demographics across North America. She began her career at Joseph Ribkoff, a fashion brand international corporation that paved her experience in sales, traveling all across the province and developing strong relationships with retailers. Ivanna then continued her path, working for Hayworth Sales and then Anna Litvack Sales representing multiple brands for Ontario.
Initially, Ivanna had a partner that she parted ways with, at the start of 2019, to further streamline her vision for a successful business, and continue to refine her process for better customer relations.
Ivanna started her own business because she realized that there was a lack of enthusiasm and open-mindedness in the Canadian wholesale market. She noticed that buyers were buying the same brands, the same styles, and ultimately sabotaging their own businesses from the lack of passion for the industry. Ivanna felt there needed to be young, fresh faces to bring new brands into the market and create an air of excitement to build up the businesses that have been around for so many years, and expand on new businesses that understand the "millennial" mindset.
Fashion wholesalers haven't been open to sourcing new brands, and are stuck in how they've operated in the industry for the last 50+ years. Consequently, the industry lacks enthusiasm, passion for "the next big brand", innovation, and ultimately, retailers are left uninspired to thrive in what should be a very exciting industry.
Retail buyers want a more convenient and efficient way to prospect new brands without wasting their time and money, but are stuck in the same, dated business model: book an appointment, check out the clothing lines, and maybe place an order. This is not an effective process given how fast the industry is wanting to change, and yet is stuck behind the current. Retail buyers want a better way to source the perfect brand for their store, and to interact and maintain their direct consumer relationships.
Evolve Showrooms Ltd. prides itself on maintaining a creative, open-minded, and innovative outlook on branding, sales, and world-class customer service. Being the "new kid in school" gives an advantage of intrigue and mystery, and allows us to come sprinting right out of the gate.
Evolve is not "just" another wholesale fashion sales agency. Our second year of business includes an updated business model, introducing a proposed full-service, personalized approach to retailers to assist in growing their business. During the off-season, we visit boutiques at their stores for a consultation, where we spend time learning all the relative details regarding their consumer target market, price points, marketing, and branding needs. Once our sales season begins, the buyer will then come to Evolve Showrooms where they will be presented with "looks" that cater to their store needs, product knowledge on the brands they buy, and become a "member" of Evolve. The membership includes weekly visits from our team to help merchandise the store, assist with social media and marketing, and ultimately ensure the continuous growth of their business.
Evolve Showrooms Ltd. focuses on multiple groups of customers, broken down into two main groups: The buyer/retailer and the end consumer.
The buyer/retailer is sub-categorized into Womenswear and Menswear divisions, and then into low, mid, and high price point brands. These individuals/entities are the primary target market for the business. According to our research, there was a total amount of 195,049 retail store locations in Canada by 2012, and has been consistently growing each year. Market growth has been over 20% since 2012 with sales totaling in $20.47 billion in 2012 to $25.78 billion in 2017. Within each province, there are retail chains with multiple locations, and there are specialty boutiques that cater to a local customer base. Evolve does research on each individual store, gathering information on the particular demographic for that area, other brands that are represented in that store in terms of competition and price point, and which "Evolve" brands would work well for that end consumer. We use this information to approach the buyer/owner of the store, providing our knowledge on what we believe to be the best fit for them and ultimately grow their sales.
Cash flow hinders my ability to expand and gain traction, so I am seeking funding to allow me to market my brand in a bigger way, hire a team for expansion, and have working capital in the business.
Your generous donation would be LIFE-CHANGING, and is the next step in growing Evolve. Please join me in this journey; your support means everything to me.
