ICYMI:

My name is AUBRIÉ COSTELLO (she/they) + I am an artist, creative director, + producer. I’ve worked for over 10 years to create art centered around the transformative, healing power of vulnerability + softness.

As an artist, curator + creative director of a multitude of photo shoots, video work, mixed media performances + installations, I have experience in observing, listening to + communicating with collaborators + creative peers to tell a story. I've always wanted to tell very nuanced + revealing stories about intimacy + vulnerability + I've found that my most successful, genuine, powerful portrayals have been created in collaboration with others.

THE EROTIC PROJECT is my largest collaborative multimedia multi-phase project to date + was inspired by a year indoors. It is an inclusive + accessible erotic art project which explores vulnerability, softness, + eroticism as self care for our collective healing. This is something I feel we need now more than ever.

THE EROTIC PROJECT includes 40+ diverse creative contributors featured in an erotic art publication + prompt card deck, a free accompanying audio book, + a short film produced by me.

So, why is this project important now?

Vulnerability has a transformative power.

The desire for deeper connection + reconnection is calling us in as we navigate + reimagine a new world. But many of us were never taught how to be vulnerable or value a soft, gentle touch within our own self discovery + reflection or offered time + space to explore, define, + redefine ourselves + our unique preferences. We are disconnected + guarded. We've learned that in the presence of uncertainty, summoning hardness reigns over cultivating softness.

What if pleasure can show us who we really are + who we can become?

Instructions are needed when our true nature has been forgotten. THE EROTIC PROJECT invites us to investigate softness as resistance + eroticism as liberation. It is an interactive offering to drop back into our own bodies, explore our nuances, + experience lasting transformative sustainable healing—both personal + shared.

THE EROTIC PROJECT OFFERINGS consist of my new erotica publication called SOFT, the FEEL erotic card prompt deck, a free erotic audio book, the short film SOFT HARD SLOW + a gender neutral intimates collection.

THE EROTIC PROJECT showcases never before released collaborative art + erotic writings from over 20+ contributors.

As I work more + more collaboratively to communicate the power of our quietest, most human moments + the interconnectedness shared in those spaces, I’ve reaffirmed that only through creating together are human stories most deeply told.

THE EROTIC PROJECT represents who we are + where we want to go. Project collaborators include an incredible ensemble of BIPOC AAPI LGBTQIA+ creatives, artists, writers, musicians, performers, scholars, activists, sex + body positivity practitioners, trauma-informed educators, + others not always represented in the genre of erotica.

It is not only important that the project represent diverse perspectives, it is also crucial that the project is equitable to all participants involved. Your financial support will compensate all contributors fairly + fully.
