My name is Vivian Osude. I am an Architect by profession and a beauty consultant by trade. MaterDei Beauty Options is a beauty store located in Lagos, Nigeria. It was founded by my mum and I in 2014. I survived a car crash in 2013 and lost my job during my long stay in the hospital. We used the funds available at that time to open the shop because it was difficult getting a job. I also sustained some injury from the crash that required limited movement. Experimenting with makeup was always fun for me and this created an avenue to do what I loved (although it came in a way I did not bargain for).
Our mission is to provide our customers with high quality products at an affordable rate. Presently, Nigerian women are skeptical about buying makeup products because the market is saturated with adulterated products which are very harmful to the skin. We have set ourselves apart by ensuring that we make quality products available to the Nigerian women. All our products are sourced directly from the manufacturers in the United States and United Kingdom.
Since inception, we have relied on sales generated to run the business. This has greatly hampered growth and expansion. We are seeking fund to keep the business afloat, for refurbishment of existing rented structure and expansion. Part of the funds generated will also be used to register and import more cosmetics brands (like L’Oréal, Revlon, Garnier, Olay, Maybelline, etc). We currently lose customers on a daily basis because we cannot afford to stock a wide variety of products to cater for the different needs of our customers within our target region and beyond. Finally we need funds to purchase an inverter and POS Cash register system for inventory management.
I thank you for this platform and also thank the backers for the opportunity and for the great investment you are making to small businesses
