Hi everybody! My name is Marjorie (MJ) and I am the founder & CEO of Little Rebels. In a nutshell, Little Rebels is a plush line doll collection inspired by iconic historic women, like Marie Curie, that interacts with our app, to teach their stories in a fun and interactive way. You can check how our app works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NGRfSU__4o
But there is so much more behind it. I am a Latin American single mom of an amazing 15 yo, my inspiration for everything I do.
She struggles with mental health, so during the past three years, we did homeschooling and that's when I noticed that nobody was teaching her about women and their contributions to our history.
Mary Jackson once said: "one cannot be, what one cannot see", so with that in mind is that I started looking up on the internet resources to teach her about Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart and so. After hours on Google, I noticed that there were a few books coming up but nothing playful, or huggable. We learn better through play and I love plushies (I mean, who doesn't?), so I came up with the idea of creating this plush collection.
It is estimated that 15 million girls – mainly those living in poverty – will never set foot in a classroom, compared to 10 million boys. The gap is even wider in conflict zones, where girls are nearly two and a half times more likely to be out of school than boys. So how can we empower them to pursue their dreams?
We partner with foundations that are working on bringing girls' education worldwide, while we showcase these stories, of real women, in a fun and entertaining way. We exist to empower and educate girls.
We got really far in the last couple of years, we were recognized by the industry, developed an amazing product, and sold out our first batch of dolls. We are now. launching worldwide through our site and Amazon and we just closed a deal with Macy's. But to get to the next stage, we need to raise funds to be able to fulfill the growing demand.
We are launching two new Rebels, Dr. Gladys B. West (inventor of the GPS) and Gitanjali Rao (16 yo inventor & aspiring scientist).
The money raised will go to produce our new Rebels, shipping logistics, and advertising (so far, everything we did was 100% organic) so we can reach a higher audience and keep our Rebel family growing.
None of this would've been possible without the support of my amazing team!
We appreciate you joining us in this journey and can't wait to have this REBELution started!

THANK YOU for your support in empowering our girls!
