As former managers of local cafes, we intimately understand how this pandemic has disrupted local coffee culture and community. Losing our jobs left us with only our years of combined coffee experience and one another's friendship. More than the sensational taste of a balanced cafe beverage, we know that customers long for this personal connection--with other coffee enthusiasts, and with the more creative sides of themselves. The Drifting Fancy is pleased to offer a simple solution: bring artisanal and ethical coffee experiences to folx at their own homes.
Cofounders Bridgette Lindgren and Chris Gallagher
Bridgette and Chris each moved to Salt Lake City from California seeking a fresh start, sanctuary, and affirmation in the local coffee scene. Unfortunately now, brick and mortar cafes like the one that brought us together are operating at half capacity, if they have reopened at all. They have the added responsibility of ensuring the safety of their guests in an economy where demand for home delivery is unprecedented, and corporate delivery sites grossly cut into profits. In buying, promoting, and delivering locally sourced coffee, we hope to stimulate Salt Lake City's small business economy, while keeping everyone as safe as possible.
We promise that a golden hour rendezvous with The Drifting Fancy will satisfy your need for deliciously smooth and chocolatey cold brew, and quenches your thirst for color, whimsy, and inspiration. Furthermore, our 48 hour brew features freshly roasted beans from local gourmet coffee companies that share our commitment to sustainability, social justice and health. With your help we can employ a closed loop system of production and delivery, following the milkman model! When we hand off your fresh batch of brew, you set out the empty bottles, and we'll wash, sanitize and reuse them!
As a new company, we need your help getting off the ground. We are raising money to cover our start up costs, which include not only equipment and beans for brewing, but bottles, lids, labels and coolers for transport. With your backing, we will have enough funds to move into a fully certified and licensed commercial kitchen--and hope to afford access to refrigerated storage and a dishwasher for sanitizing. Just like many local small food companies in Salt Lake, we want to prioritize supporting community engagement and service. Among our many tantalizing rewards, we hope you sponsor free cold brew for local protesters and activists, which we will distribute on your behalf.

We cannot do this without you--and we honestly wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you in advance for your support--we are so excited to make magic together.
