Project Description
AMRUTAM JEWELRY is India's first vertical marketplace for designer jewelry, that gives access to majority (60-80%) of the designer jewelry labels in the country to consumers. They can shop from a wide assortment of quality unique designs which are Value for money. all at one place. The designers get marketing support, more visibility and thereby they see a growth in sales and brand recognition.
PROBLEM : Due to the horizontal structure of marketplaces, consumers are unable to access a wide variety of quality designer jewelry online and the designer labels are not able to get enough visibility, thereby restricting the designers reach, brand awareness and ability to conduct business at scale. A lot of Indian artisans and their craft is also dying because of low esteem of the designers which is interrelated to lack of a platform that supports and markets them. In the bigger picture, we are trying to preserve the Indian traditional crafts of Jewelry making via these artisans.
Consumers get to access a wide assortment of trusted quality designer jewelry from their favourite designers for all moods and occasions at one place.
MARKET SIZE/OPPORTUNITY : India has almost 7,00,00000 household in upper middle and high income segment who are our target consumers. Overall India has a 15000cr Fashion Jewelry market growing at a CAGR of 20%. Globally its a 2,40,000cr market for fashion jewelry.
WHY ARE WE SEEKING FUNDING & HOW WILL WE SPEND IT: This project is my dream and i have bootstrapped almost 10,000 $ till now to bring it till here. But to market and get the startup going, i need another 15,000$ for digital marketing and PR. I have got positive feedback from everyone around, but no one supports a women entrepreneur easily when it comes to funding unless they see big numbers. So i thought of reaching to fellow women from around the world, who would like to support the Indian designers and their amazing collection of handcrafted jewelry.
WHO IS ON YOUR TEAM : We have an amazing tech team of 3 people, and a graphic designer currently for website and social media. Rest everything is managed by me. We will hire a digital agency to market the brand with the crowdfunding money.
