Story Summary:
Set right before 20-something year old Nkenge finds herself on a journey towards self-discovery and love. The D*ck & Donuts Prequel gives the audience an inside look at the catalyst for her transition to begin her new life in Detroit. Join us as we find ourselves in the shoes of Nkenge once again dealing with an ain't shit stud and finding her bearings all over again.
About Our Goals:
We're helping to solve the problem of diversity in both the narrative portion of production and the physical creative work of production. Dick and Donuts gives voice to the real life experiences of a Black Femme from her own perspective and within her own boundaries. The production itself is being created by the work of Black women, creatives and artists, allowing each to contribute in a non exploitive and collaborative way.
We are seeking funding to cover the expenses associated with producing a visual poem like equipment, crew, props, and more! As a boutique creative production cooperative, we need support in generating start up capital for this project. Any contribution helps, and we hope that our offerings will inspire generosity!
