Project Description
In the struggle to meet basic needs, personal care & hygiene are pushed down on the priority list. Haircuts and hygiene packs are an amazing way to build moral and give back through spreading beauty. Although a haircut provides confidence, it is the kindness behind the haircut that makes a lasting impact.
After popping up in dozens of locations, providing over 1,000 hygiene packs, and performing almost 800 haircuts, Cuts for Change is now looking for a permanent home and we need your help!
WHAT WE OFFER
Cuts for Change provides FREE haircuts and hygiene packs to the under-served communities in Chattanooga. We will provide FULL services and access to showers in our space which we aren't able to do at pop ups. We will also have a community pantry filled with hygiene and feminine products.

WHY CROWDFUNDING?
As a community-based organization, we’ve explored various forms of fundraising. What was missing from our efforts? You, our community. Our philosophy is for the community, by the community. Money from our iFundWomen campaign will go toward building our physical space, which allows us to do more of what we love: helping our neighbors in need.
FOUNDER
Cuts for Change was founded by a local hair & makeup artist, Shaina Ramsey. She was inspired by Mark Bustos who is a celebrity stylist who performs free haircuts in communities all over the world. Chattanooga was missing a dedicated team to provide hair services and the need was more apparent after the first event.
The team has grown to volunteers from 26 different salons and 12 board members!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Thank you for supporting our neighbors in need. Together we can make an impact on the lives of the under-served communities of Chattanooga and make it a little easier to face tomorrow.
