Project Description

I know that a video message would've been more appealing in this instance, and even a more exciting business field would be more attractive. However, the importance of a high-quality early childhood education program is essential to all communities. The majority of those who are in the work-force, who have children, rely on quality programs for their young children to go to.

As a mother of three, it was always important to me that my children went somewhere that was safe and that taught them concepts that got them prepared for school.  While going from one child care center to another I kept noticing one thing....no one taught the children and the programs available were less then average.  I felt a true desire to change this so I start my major in Child Development, and graduated in May of this year with my bachelors with the intent to create a program for my community that not only provide child care services but education services as well.

My goals with my program is to provide foreign language lessons for the children in languages like Spanish and Dutch, to teach children how to utilize American Sign Language to communicate more effectively, to learn how to use technology for learning which is what our public schools use starting in Kindergarten, to teach younger children life skills that are appropriate for their development levels, and to provide a safe, fun place where children can learn how to become well-rounded and independent individuals while also feeling included no matter what their race, religion, sexual orientation, or beliefs are.

I currently have own a building that will be location for my center, and we have already completed the bigger renovations to get the building up to state standards. Where I am needing help is completing the small renovations (like replacing sinks, fencing repair, window repairs, etc.) and furnishing my classrooms to go beyond state standards (like tables and chairs, toy storage, art supplies, learning materials, libraries, etc.).  If you understand the need for programs like the one that I am trying to create please help me make this happen!

Thank you for your time and consideration!

The Campaign FAQs

How will these funds be used?

  • These funds will be used to purchase enough toys, learning materials, and classroom furniture for a total of 71 children. It will also be used to purchase any kitchen equipment that we will need to be in compliance with USDA standards. We will also be updating our fire alarm system that is required by the state of Missouri for the amount of children we can have. We will also be completing any renovations that we have started which are repairing our playground fencing, adding a porch gate, replacing broken windows, adding small toilets and stalls to our preschool rooms, adding siding outside.

What is your projected open date?

  • Right now with the minimal amount of work that needs to be completed, and pending state approval from our main state department, fire safety, and sanitation department we are projecting to be completed and ready for our first day of care no later than October 1st if all goes as planned.
