Hi, I'm Carrie! Working in restaurants, coffee shops, and catering operations for 17 years has given me a strong business background, but has also opened my eyes to the problems in the industry. Long hours, low pay, high waste, and dangerous working conditions are common, along with a deeply ingrained culture of hostility toward anyone who doesn't fall into a very distinct (white, male) category. I've decided to shirk those traditions by creating a company that embraces equality, supports progressive causes, protects the environment, and fights for workers rights (and also makes very cute and delicious cookies). A portion of all proceeds will go directly to a different non-profit organization each month because I believe a good business is built on a foundation of community involvement.
Cookie Cuts Kitchen makes custom decorated sugar cookies along with childhood favorites (chocolate chip! snickerdoodle! oatmeal butterscotch!) for local orders, nationwide shipping, and wholesale. As the business expands, new options will be added (macarons! pies! scones!). I accommodate most dietary restrictions and offer options such as natural, plant-based dyes and vegan sprinkles. I also am committed to a green initiative - all of Cookie Cuts Kitchen's packaging will be compostable or recyclable whenever possible, and I am committed to reducing food waste by composting any scraps and donating any surplus product!
This campaign was started to create a sustainable path to growing a thriving business. My start-up costs are modest, my overhead fees are low, and I'm simply seeking enough funds to cover licensing, insurance, and a small amount of equipment and supplies.
