Project Description
Our mission is to provide an easy and customized college admissions process for ALL students.
Out of 11.2 million students who apply to college every year, 8.4 million do not attend. Deserving students are limited in the college and financial aid options that they can access.
Many reasons contribute to students not attending:

They don't know where to begin.

The steps of the process are scattered all over the internet requiring students to input information over and over again wasting a lot of time on data entry.

There are many different deadlines to meet.

Students also have little guidance available as the national average of students to school counselors is 430:1.
CollegeLeaps was founded to provide an easy, customized way for students to apply for college using their mobile phones. We provide students with a customized roadmap to follow for their individual college admissions journey based upon their student data. We also offer the opportunity for parents and school staff to collaborate with their students in this process to encourage community and support.
With our paid features, students will also be able to access a custom browser extension which will allow them to securely enter their personalized data into the many websites and accounts that they must access in the process. The average student must access 26 different websites on their journey, so this will save them tons of time. Another feature offered to students are matching services to show them best-fit colleges, scholarships for which they will qualify, and other financial aid options available providing students with opportunities to receive much more funding and making college more accessible and possible for many students!
Our founders are two award-winning teachers.
We are Laura Vignon (left) and Angie Allen (right) and have a combined 28 years of classroom teaching experience, both winning Teacher of the Year and Blue Ribbon teacher honors. We have walked over 2,000 students through the college admissions process and have experienced the pain of this process over and over again first hand! We have seen students not complete the process as well and our passion is to close that gap. Help us give students access to their college dreams!
We are seeking our first round of funding to complete the development of our iOS and Android apps. We also plan to begin our marketing to families as soon as possible to make this tool available by college admissions season.

What are CollegeLeap's next steps?
CollegeLeaps is currently building our iOs and Android apps. We will begin beta testing of the app in this fall with local high school juniors and seniors. After beta testing, we will be launching on the Apple and Google Play stores as soon as our funding allows. We are hoping to provide this as soon as possible to students as this is the college admissions season!
Who will use CollegeLeaps?
CollegeLeaps app is primarily for high school students who are preparing for and applying to college. However, in the spirit of "it takes a village," CollegeLeaps will also be accessible for parents, school counselors, and other school staff so that they can help the student in their admissions process as well.
When will the mobile app launch?
We are currently planning to launch in mid to late October 2020 after we have a good round of beta testing completed.
Why iFundWomen?
iFundWomen is a website that we randomly came across and became very excited because our missions are so similar. We are two women who have worked in a predominantly female field of education and are now moving into the predominately male field of business. We are excited to partner with a company like iFundWomen to have a network of female mentors and women who are knowledgeable about the entrepreneur and startup world.
