Coco Beans creates dreamy sleep environments for little beans using the natural magic of 100% silk.
Meet Jill Apgar, the founder of Coco Beans. Fierce motherly instinct led Jill to discover the magic of silk, but it was her industry knowledge that brought Coco Beans to life. Jill's obsession with product and passion for quality is grounded in twelve years of merchandising experience at some of the world's most iconic brands. She has built a career on turning concept into reality so when she couldn't find a silk crib sheet that she could trust Coco Beans was born.
Jill and her husband Joe adopted their daughter Cora in 2018. Cora is biracial and Jill was searching for the best ways to care for her beautiful curly hair and delicate brown skin. She knew that there had to be a solution to avoid the tangled dry hair that Cora would wake up with after sleeping on traditional cotton sheets. Jill began to research the benefits of 100% silk and became certain it was the answer, but couldn't find the right product from a brand that she could trust. Committed to providing the best solution for Cora, Jill has since spent the last 18 months discovering the natural magic of 100% silk while working with women around the world to develop and perfect each detail of the Coco Beans crib sheets. She is thrilled to now share that magic with you and your family, but needs your help to begin bulk production. The funds raised from this campaign will be directly allocated to producing the initial bulk units of Coco Beans 100% silk fitted crib sheets.
100% silk is nature's solution to achieving a restful night of sleep for baby and as a result, us parents!
What began as a solution to care for skin and hair has evolved into the discovery that the benefits of sleeping on 100% silk extend well beyond hair and skin.
Silk is a perfect solution for littles struggling with eczema because unlike highly absorbent cotton and bamboo, silk’s breathable fibers and naturally hydrating properties won't strip your baby’s skin of its natural oils.
Dermatologists also recommend silk because it is naturally hypoallergenic and temperature regulating. These attributes make 100% silk an ideal bedding choice for sensitive infants no matter the climate.
And the magical smooth texture of silk reduces friction which means less frizz and tangles and a more peaceful morning for all, especially for little beans with curly hair!
Did we mention that silk is one of nature's strongest fibers and can absolutely withstand the messy realities of life with little beans? Hello machine wash and dry!
Quality serves as the north star for Coco Beans. We are intensely committed to delivering product you can trust which means each detail has been carefully considered and thoughtfully designed.
THE SILK
Coco Beans 100% silk fabric is sourced from Hangzhou Meho Textiles Co., Ltd. Meho is a specialized silk supplier producing and designing innovative, eco-friendly, and premium quality silks. Meho also uses OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and Blue Sign certified dye houses.
THE FIT
As parents, we understand the importance of safe sleep which means using a secure fitting crib sheet. We were committed to engineering a snug as a bug fit that we could trust and went through several rounds of prototypes to land on the final approval.
Coco Beans crib sheets measure 28"W x 52"H x 7"D and offer a snug as a bug fit for most standard crib mattresses.
THE SEAMS
Coco Beans crib sheets are constructed using extra strong French seams to ensure long lasting durability.
LASTING DESIGN
At Coco Beans, we believe that it is our responsibility to consider our impact on the planet in all of our decision making. Our crib sheets are designed for durability using the the natural strength of silk fibers coupled with the high quality craftsmanship. Each detail, from the French seams to the encased elastic stitch technique, was carefully considered to ensure Coco Beans crib sheets stand up to the messy realities of every day life with your little bean!
REDUCING WASTE
Coco Beans crib sheets come packaged in a reusable 100% silk zipper pouch. We repurposed the leftover fabric from the sheet pattern because we were committed to reducing waste and the result is an elevated customer experience.
