Dancing Through the Curriculum (DTC) brings dance classes to you!

Dancing Through the Curriculum (DTC) would like to kick-off our Chic Moves Campaign to provide girls from under-served areas, access to dance. 

Why We're Raising Money

For over 7 years, Dancing Through the Curriculum (DTC) has served young girls in the Nashville community through after-school tutoring, summer programs, and dance classes in local community centers. We have reached over 100 participants with the support of local foundations and state/city agencies. 

With the increasing cost of studio rental/lease, many dance organizations are being forced to raise tuition costs in order to support daily operations and maintain a quality staff.  This negatively impacts dancers from low-income families.  The median family income in Tennessee is $48,547, with the average cost for after-school tutoring $15,000/yr and studio dance classes being $3,000/year. That's almost 40% of one family's income!  Our goal is to raise $10,000 in three months to provide full scholarships to 12 young girls from families earning below the average median income in Nashville, TN.   

Where the Money is Going

Your contribution will help us…

• Purchase dance attire for 12 dancers from under-served communities.
• Provide weekly ballet, tap, hip hop, tumbling, modern, and contemporary dance experiences for under-served girls in Nashville, TN schools and community centers.
• Cover overhead costs, associated with studio rent, so we can continue to carry out our mission of educating and empowering girls through dance.
