Project Description

  • Our Mission:   To provide our communities with fresh, innovative, delicious food, and in doing so, help fund free meals to senior with food insecurities.
  • The Problem:   In my target communities, there is a lack of breakfast and lunch service.  There is also an alarming number of food-insecure seniors, who don't have access to good food.
  •  Our Market:   Our communities number about 20000 members.  We are also located directly of an interstate, I-5, and draw that traffic as well.  Recreationers from the cities funnel through this town up to the recreation areas of Stonyford, and they all have to go right past Kris Caters food truck.
  • About Us:   I am a 42 y/o single mother with over 2 decades experience in the food industry.  I've helped open restaurants, I've managed restaurants, I've cooked, served, tended bar and poured coffee.  I have numerous certifications through the CACFP, making me more than qualified to create meals for seniors that tend to their nutritional needs.  I plan to pursue 3 lines of revenue to help fund my free meals program.  1, Breakfast and Lunch food truck.  Serving tasty, fast meals on the go for travelers and community members, 5 days a week.  2, Family style meals to go.  Think of a four person handmade lasagna meal complete with a seasonal salad and garlic-parmesan bread.  Busy folks can order one of these meals and take it home and serve it up, no planning, shopping, chopping or cooking required.   I would offer a different meal and soup each day of the week.  3, Small event catering.  Party trays, office lunches, on-site and personal chef services, all here at Kris Caters.   All this will help create a stream of revenue that can be used to assist seniors in need.
  • Why do we need you?   I am pursuing a county-sponsored business loan to purchase the food truck, equip it with anything not already installed, and cover a couple months operating expenses to get us going.  In order to qualify for this loan, I need to put up a down payment of $25,000.  In an industry where anyone except owners are living paycheck to paycheck, it has been very difficult to raise the cash for the loan.  I have some, but the banks want more.  This is what I'm asking my community for help with.
  • Thank you for taking the time to read this through, and thank you and God Bless you for your support
    Chef Kris
