Captured- A Fun Photo Experience, is currently a self service pop up shop that offers colorful, fun, interactive backdrops that are ready for a frame or your next social media post! Our backdrops are themed and seasonal. We guarantee genuine smiles and a good time!

Families would love to capture milestones and phases of their lives but booking professional photography sessions are extremely expensive. There are also many local artists and creative entrepreneurs that need the space and opportunity to display their work. It can be a daunting, time consuming and expensive task for artists and craftsmen to get their work placed, especially in their own communities.

 

As of January 2019, there are 500 million active Instagram users worldwide. 89% of all social media users access their accounts and upload pictures from a mobile device. In the Washington DC Capitol region, there are close to 5,000,000 people, many of which are families. 88% of people we surveyed, ages 16-40 said that they would like to take more pictures for themselves or their families but professional photography sessions are too expensive.

Captured is about good clean fun and capturing memories with the equipment you already have and use everyday. We help people capture great pictures of themselves, family and friends for less than booking a professional photography session. Anyone can bring their own device (cellphone, personal camera) or photographer, move through the space, have fun and take pictures with cool backgrounds and props without spending tons of money. This business is also an effort to support local artists and provide a supportive place to create and share their work.

I am raising funds to help secure and build out a location for the home of CAPTURED. This includes the purchase of some fun photo booth technology like a 360 booth and a booth that creates GIFs and automatically shares images and video online. The money will also be used to help commission artists and foster relationships with our local creative community. The goal of CAPTURED is to become a go-to destination for fun and photos as well as to support local artists and creatives.

I am Bridget Myers, the Owner and Founder of CAPTURED. I have been a creative my entire life as a degreed musician, crafter hobbyist and creative entrepreneur. Through my ten year career in Education, I've taught in the arts and have always been an advocate for all things creative. There is always a push and struggle to keep the arts alive and give artists and creatives the chances and recognition they deserve. I'm also the person always taking pictures at events and making sure I'm capturing everyone's best angle with the best background possible. When I put those parts of my life together, a career in education, arts advocacy and my spirit that craves creativity, I get CAPTURED - A Fun Photo Experience.
