Project Description
- Under My Wings, LLC's mission is to inspire the youth, empower the adult, aid the disabled, and rejuvenate and replenish the elderly through education, sports, financial literacy, health and fitness, and the arts. In doing so, we prepare youth and families in rural communities for these opportunities through scholarship research, sports performance, music lessons, health and fitness, educational and financial literacy workshops , and community giveaways and events. Many families in rural areas are not aware of opportunities, so it's our endeavor to bring to them trainings, informational workshops, and events to change their lives and help youth have a better start intellectually, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, socially, psychologically, and financially. For example, many parents from rural areas are not aware of the numerous Junior USA leagues and competitions, neither robotics, Minecraft, E-games or other STEM competitions around the world. Children play games and sports daily, but with no direction. UMW redirects it and now youth will play with a purpose to better educate themselves and financially help their families. How many lives will change when others simply become aware and involved? UMW is seeking funding to build a UMW center that will secure the consistency of the workshops, trainings, and development of the business, community, and surrounding areas. Currently UMW is in the negotiating process of acquiring a 4,000 square feet building in the heart of the community that must be renovated. However, after learning of the mission of UMW, the building has been generously discounted for purchase but for a limited time, and UMW is aggressively seeking donations to acquire the land and building. I'm fortunate to have my family as my team which includes an accountant, musician well versed in piano, guitar, and percussion, a business consultant, a contingency consultant, child care providers, researchers, and teachers. We're committed to serving the community and surrounding areas, and I am grateful for those that have supported me along the way and to those that will join in the endeavor to help us "Raise a Nation" one family at a time.

- Has COVID affected your business: Yes, so we're developing our digital presence and personally seeing clients within state guidelines.
- What are your core values? Honesty, resiliency, and transparency. UMW took a hit financially over the course of 4yrs and was almost dissolved, but what makes us who we are is that as we service rural areas, we understand what it means to grow, rebuild, and become from almost nothing. We've done it and now we're leading families and communities in the same way.
- Why should we invest in your company? One reason is that the owner has qualified herself through education with a BA in Physical Education, MA in Sports Management, and an MBA. Secondly, it serves the community with a target market of all ages in rural communities. Thirdly, it's bringing awareness to families and combating crimes that helps make communities safer and preventing other disadvantages in the community. Finally, it's simply better to give than to receive and in doing so, there will be a life changing harvest from this company because you're giving to a giver.
