I am the first in my family to open a business, specifically a minority (Black), woman owned one. The original idea was to have an active skincare line but due to being a bit of perfectionist, I did not want to put anything onto the market without it meeting my high standards. So I moved to my second passion of traveling and exploring the world’s beaches. My grandmother was a constant inspiration of seeing different countries and meeting people. Her motto was, “always save room for dessert and always have a swimsuit just in case.” With that in mind, a new idea began to go form of helping fellow women sculpt the “perfect” swimsuit to standout during their travels. My marketing strategy is to appeal directly to that on various social media platforms by showcasing a wider variety of persons. This will entice ages 18-40 demographics. In order to execute that type of commercialization and clientele, the funds will be applied directly to inventory, marketing (with editing), and the testing of products. Due to being a young entrepreneur, the biggest problem for me has been securing the funding for my dreams.
