Let me tempt your taste buds with the sweet taste of Natasha's Just Brittle. My Name is Natasha Brown- Wainwright and I am the founder of Natasha’s Just Brittle and B’More Made with Pride Commercial Kitchen.
I am also hailed “The Brittle Queen” and chief brittle maker.
In the summer of 2009, I simply wanted to teach my daycare children a lesson in business fundamentals. PPLC Sweet Treats, the children’s sweet business, made cakes, cookies, brownies and smoothies. I came up with an all- natural brittle recipe incorporating brown & white sugar, sea salt, butter and agave.
In December 2009, Natasha’s Just Brittle Online store was born. Fast forward to August 2016, I decided to close my daycare center after 21 years in the industry to produce and operate Natasha’s Just Brittle full time.
Fast forward to 2017, Natasha’s Just Brittle has since been featured on QVC and is now in Whole Foods and other grocers across the State of Maryland.
Fast forward to 2018, It was my absolute pleasure to receive an invitation to send in Holiday packaging and holiday flavors for consideration with Oprah's Magazine. Natasha’s Just Brittle Production House also serves as a dual Commercial Kitchen so that other culinary artisans can grow their businesses.
My vision is to create a one stop sweet shop selling candy, scratch bakery goods, coffee, ice-cream & a unique brunch menu created by the B'More Made with Pride Artisans. It will be a place where the community can mix, mingle and be. A place where local Baltimorians can sell their wares. A place where the youth of Baltimore City can get experience, get exposure and get access to employment opportunities. A place where children and children at heart can learn to cook.
Our facility is 80% finished and we need your help in bringing all the pieces together. Our team of 3 has been operating without working capital over the last 2 years. Women receive just 2.2% venture capital, so I have been Pitching my business to have access to capital. Over the last few months we have gotten behind on the rent ($6300). We need immediate assistance so that we can keep our doors open. We also have qualified for a facility improvement grant of ($6900) to make our store front more inviting, but the drawback is that we must come out of pocket first. Contributors who support with a donation of $200 or more by April 5th will get a (Natasha's Just Brittle/ B'More Made with Pride) Tee shirt and mug. Check out the other sweet rewards that you will receive for your support. I along with the artisans of B'More Made with Pride Commercial Kitchen thank you.
