The gift registry for what moms really need. Support, not stuff.
Why BeHerVillage?
New mothers are inundated with gifts for their babies while unable to access basic support for themselves. The US is the only developed country with no paid parental leave, no guaranteed in-home postpartum care, and we have the highest maternal mortality rate in the developed world.
There are $12 BILLION ($12,000,000,000) spent each year in the US on baby gifts.
And yet, mothers are STRUGGLING.
BeHerVillage is a gift registry for support, not stuff. So that moms get the support they need as gifts at their baby shower.
What kind of support?
Doulas - Lactation - Pelvic floor - Postpartum Care - Meals + More
Parents need a village of support as they welcome their babies and we are helping them access the funds they need to pay for it.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We need to reach more mothers!
We've spent the past two years building our platform, testing it, changing it, and growing our community of users. Every metric we track is going up quarter over quarter. Our rate of gifted funds doubled from Q4 2021 to Q1 2022. We have a small but growing stream of new registrants every month, and we are growing organically with no paid marketing.
Parents and the practitioners that support them are talking to each other about BeHerVillage! We have something really special. We want to tell more mothers that there is a better way to register for gifts. And that they don't have to get a bunch of baby gear as gifts while really wanting the support they deserve.
The baby gear companies that dominate the gift industry have DEEP pockets and huge marketing budgets. And we need a little help from our community to spread the word.
Why don't you just get an investor?
1. We are actively seeking investors. If you're interested in investing, please reach out we would love to talk to you!
2. Raising money through investors takes TIME. While we create relationships and raise funds, we want to start reaching mothers NOW. Mothers in the US are in crisis and time is of the essence.
3. Only 2.8% of venture capital goes to women-owned businesses. The reality of raising funds for a woman-owned, woman-focused business that addresses the problems facing mothers---something most VCs have little to no personal experience with--is that it's difficult.
Women need to fundraise differently. Which is why we are asking for your help today.
We are relying on the community of people who love us, support us, and want to see our platform become the next household brand for baby registries.
Thank you for your support!
