How can I find out my skin type?

Typically, skin is classified in just a few categories, including normal, oily, dry, and sensitive. If you have combination skin, it means your skin is one type in one area and another type in another area (oily around your T-zone but normal everywhere else, for instance). Your skin type can change over time and can also be affected by factors such as hormones, medications, and diet. To get a good idea of what your skin type might be, wash it gently and leave it product-free for several hours before examining it closely to observe different areas.

How do I know if a product is right for me?

Sometimes, there is no way to tell for sure unless you try it. Usually, however, you can make an educated guess by examining the product’s label and ingredient list. To increase the chance that products won’t irritate your skin, seek out those that are fragrance-free, contain little or no alcohol, and are labeled “suitable for sensitive skin”. We make great natural skincare, using the very best organic ingredients, and we do so by employing exacting methodologies in our manufacturing plant, and by testing on ourselves (which might sound brave, but it so isn’t…. because we only work with natural and organic ingredients).

It’s important to remember too, that we acquire the ingredients for our natural makeup and skincare from organic farms. That means no synthetic, chemical herbicides or pesticides – toxic products which leach into the environment and do great damage to the delicate ecology that animals are so dependent on for their survival. 

You highlight that Bubbaskin is vegan. But are vegan beauty products really any good for me?

All our products are vegan. 

 Is your skincare safe for sensitive skins?

The answer is yes. Generally. BUT… everyone is different (which is a good thing!). Some people may have individual allergies – and react to tomatoes, for example, or peanuts, or milk – which will cause their skin to react. The same applies to natural skincare. Occasionally, the active ingredients in plant botanicals and essential oils will cause a reaction in some individuals. For this reason, we strongly recommend that people go slowly when they first begin to use natural skincare and that they conduct a patch test prior to use.

What’s the shelf life of your products?

All our products have a minimum two-year shelf-life, and most even longer than that. Once they’re opened, if you want to experience the full therapeutic benefits of our organic ingredients (and why wouldn’t you?), we recommend using within 6 months.

Do BubbaSkin products contain preservatives? 

Our products contain natural preservatives. If there is one drop of water in a natural product—even in the form of aloe vera gel—a preservative of some type is generally needed to maintain freshness and guarantee the shelf life of the formulation. Any natural product that is not a powder, solid soap or strictly oil-based, requires a preservative even if it's not listed on the label. 

We do not utilize toxic preservatives. Among the ones we do use are Rosemary Verbenone, Vitamin E and other Antioxidants, Honeysuckle and Aspen Bark.  Many of the essential oils we use also have preservative properties

Are your bio organic skincare fragrances natural?

We use only organic and wild-crafted essential oils and pure botanical extracts. The fragrance of our products is solely the result of the synergy between these ingredients. Each of the ingredients included in our products is chosen for the benefits it offers both to our skin and spirit and will not elicit any negative reaction such as the headaches commonly experienced when exposed to products containing synthetic fragrances. 

Are your products safe for people with sensitive skin?

We make all our products light and gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin.

We are very pleased to say that you absolutely can. We suggest always performing a patch test on hidden skin first if you have concerns.

What is the best method for maintaining balanced skin?

The ideal method for maintaining balanced skin is keeping a consistent skin care routine and avoiding harsh chemicals that can strip the skin and create more blemishes. Additionally, a diet rich in water, fresh fruits and vegetables and low in preservatives is also important.

Is your skincare important while pregnant? Why?

 Our hormones change throughout pregnancy. Maintaining a proper skincare routine helps keep your skin adapted to the changing facial and body skin.

Are your products safe for pregnant women?

Our entire product line is safe for pregnant or nursing women to use, especially our essential oil-free products. We provide full disclosure of all our ingredients in each product so please refer to those in the product descriptions. However, always check with your doctor before using any skincare products

 Are there certain ingredients you should not use while pregnant?

 It is best to avoid vitamin A, retinoids, chemicals/preservatives, dyes and fragrances because these can not only irritate sensitive pregnant skin but also negatively impact the hormonal axis in our body and ultimately affect a growing baby.

Is Bubbaskin just as effective to use before or after my pregnancy?

 What is great about Belli is it is formulated to be ideal for use throughout all phases of a woman's life. She can start with the products when trying to conceive and feel confident nothing is affecting her fertility, use the products throughout pregnancy and continue the same routine with certain added products postpartum and beyond. The formulations in each product allow your skin to extract benefits from the high quality ingredients no matter what stage your skin is in

Can the wrong skincare really hurt your unborn baby?

 Yes, unfortunately. Skincare formulated with harmful chemicals can affect a developing embryo directly by exposing him/her to chemicals and indirectly by changing the estrogen levels in mom and therefore affecting anatomy development of the baby.
