*Back Away From the Chocolate *is a website and a YouTube channel, along with a YouNow site for live streaming designed to educate consumers about the dangers of a highly processed diet and how to walk out of the most pervasive and insidious addiction there is - Sugar. Even a 5 year-old can destroy their life with this cheap, available "Substance."
*Back Away From the Chocolate* is first and foremost an ongoing public service announcement aimed to save our population from eating itself to death. I call it food-assisted suicide. So even if I fail and we all lose our money, we will be saving lives with content that will live forever on YouTube.
I will not fail! I have 25 years into living, teaching, writing about and working with clients around Sugar Detox. The five year goal is to roll out the television program I wrote called *Celebrity Sugar Detox* and film it here in Las Vegas to compliment and drive the online business. We may make
it to production in a year. It's time.
The money I am seeking for BAFTC will bankroll the new computer system and editing suites I need to produce quality content and move it all over the web. It will pay for social media support and for me to work the site and pump out content full-time the first 60 days. If we haven't hit a viral
moment or started a reasonable climb towards growing the channel then I can take on another investment and keep spending on social media services until we get there. A viral video can happen overnight and I have what I think is amazing viral content for the site.
Meet Duke, my Sugar Detox Mascot. Duke loves fresh foods and other than is Oprah-esque addiction to bread, he doesn't do sugar - not even fruit. He exercises, eats right and gets lots of rest. And he will tell you to Back Away From the Chocolate. Who better to, "Cute," our population into healthier living?
How will the site/channel make money? Initially by selling my ebooks and ringtones and accepting donations which can be quite generous on YouNow. As we grow and gain subscribers we can monetize the YouTube channel with advertising, hook backend sales products to the site and sell memberships for exclusive content.
Simultaneously, I am also growing my music career and linking the two so that any audience I get in front of will be led to Back Away From the Chocolate with QR code technology. For those who aren't familiar - QR codes are the square scan codes you see everywhere these days. Here are mine:
When I perform or speak in public I will carry a poster with these codes on it. A fan can just point their cell phone camera at it and it will take them directly to my social media presence. It is an electronic business card basically. Therefore, even if I am just out doing a musical or comedy open mic I am gaining fans for the site.
There are three videos on the site currently. They are as primitive as my Fred Flintstone computer but the content is life-saving and I think you will see that my approach may gently break through the cultural denial on this topic.
Let's do this! Back Away From the Chocolate will dwarf California Coolers in revenues and will certainly do more good.
