What is AmorSui?
At AmorSui, we believe that every female scientist should be protected while feeling beautiful at the same time. That is why our passionate team created a line of professional apparel for dynamic women at the lab bench.
Designed to be worn under a lab coat to provide an additional layer of protection, AmorSui's durable garments are appropriate both in and out of the lab.
Our foundation is to empower all women scientists so they can take on the world.
The Problem:
Every day, over 4.9 million female scientists' lives are in danger. They are surrounded by toxic chemicals and flammable materials that could hurt or kill them.
The bottom line is that scientists do not like to wear lab coats, but we put them on to protect ourselves even though they aren't always enough.
Women scientists are risking their lives to improve the lives of people across the world. This is a big problem that, with the right solution, could save the lives of women in the laboratory.
Our team has searched for protective clothing made for women, and was surprised that such garments do not exist. Most available products are shapeless, do not fit women’s bodies properly, and are not professional-looking. They will make women feel frumpy and impede our credibility.
The Solution:
Our team gathered information from female scientists with various backgrounds, and we used what we learned to develop well-fitted and stylishly-made protective clothing that women scientists want to wear, with or without a lab coat.
AmorSui is here to think differently about how we should approach chemical safety. We are starting this initiative with female scientists and will expand our offering to male scientists as well as our company grows.
Who is AmorSui for?
Designed by Scientists, Worn by Women. Although our apparel is purposely made for dynamic female scientists who juggle bench work, teaching, committee meetings, advising clients, giving talks, interviewing for jobs, and hanging out with friends, our pieces can be worn by any woman who needs durable stylish garments. Whether she is a mother, wife, or single lady, we hope to help her take on the world, feel beautiful, and embody the confident woman who lives in us all.
How is AmorSui’s product made?
AmorSui’s garments are made with materials that are 100% US sourced and will be manufactured in the US, empowering local businesses and the US economy. In addition, we are looking to support female workers in these factories as a way to continue to empower women in our footprint, an initiative that is very important to our team.
Why should you support us?
Simple: our product can save lives. Not just any lives, but the lives of brilliant and hard-working women in laboratories who are spending their time finding new cures for untreated diseases or innovations to improve the world.
Your contribution will help us ensure that we maintain the forces that could make the world a better place.
If you are a female scientist, this product is for you. There is nothing out there designed to fit your needs, and your support will allow us to bring this product to you and keep expanding our line with more beautiful selections.
We seek to create a solution that fits the needs of professional female scientists. Join us to be a part of this solution.
Why Do We Need Your Help?
We are raising money to support the first production run for AmorSui. These funds will allow us to buy the protective fabric, pay for high-quality sewing and assembly, and bring products that protect and empower female scientists to market.
Project Timeline:
About AmorSui:
AmorSui was founded by Beau Wangtrakuldee, a PhD chemist with over 10 years experience in the laboratory. Beau recognized first-hand the importance of creating protective clothing for female scientists as she experienced a chemical burn from a spill accident during one of her experiments. To Beau’s surprise, such protective garments that would fit women’s bodies and their professional lives did not exist at the time, so she decided to develop apparel that would provide a solution to this problem herself. AmorSui was developed from the collective opinions of female scientists she talked to, with the goal of creating a clothing line that would serve their general functions with comfort and professional aesthetics. Beau also teamed up with Lele Tran, a professional fashion designer and Betsy Cook, a pattern maker, utilizing their 30 years of combined experience to bring the vision of AmorSui, the first ever clothing line for female scientists, to life.
