Project Description

Though Addicted Geeks was founded in the summer of 2019, our website did not open until September 2020.  Originally a dropshipping store, we quickly moved away from that business model as it was impossible to control the quality of products and the time it took to ship products to our customers.  Inventory is now housed and shipped from the owner’s home in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Our founder, Jen Sullivan, envisions are bright future for Addicted Geeks.  We hope to open a brick-and-mortar store in the summer of 2023 where we can sell our inventory and offer space to host games, both board and tabletop games.  We also plan to hold Windows and Microsoft Office lessons to non-tech savvy individuals without passing judgement on them and can offer basic computer repair services for fair prices.

We are still a young business, so we are looking for help through crowdfunding to help us grow without needing to take on a lot of debt.  We are using multiple platforms in the hopes to achieve this goal.  Whatever we cannot raise through crowdfunding, we will seek a small business loan from a bank, but we are hoping that between crowdfunding and sales over the next year that we will not need to do this.  Even if we do not reach our goal, your contribution will go a long way to helping make this dream a reality.

We have a bright future, but the vision has to start somewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Addicted Geeks located?  Addicted Geeks is located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

What type of products does Addicted Geeks sell?  We sell mostly toys (mainly with educational value), accessories such as keychains and wallets, Dungeons and Dragons dice sets, and various novelty items, with a heavy focus on video game themed items.

How did you come up with the idea for Addicted Geeks?  The idea for Addicted Geeks was born during the final days of Toys R Us.  Our founder, Jen Sullivan, always vowed to be a Toys R Us kid, so when she saw her childhood dying, she knew she had to do something.  She wondered where people would go to buy the fun stuff in life: collectible toys, stuffed animals, video game themed merchandise, and so on.  She was not a fan of shopping at GameStop for toys, or any big corporation who did not actually value the products or the customers.  It was then that she had an idea: if such a place did not exist, she would create it.  A few months later, Addicted Geeks was born.

Why do you think Addicted Geeks will be successful?  While all new businesses are a risk, Jen has over 20 years of retail experience, including four years as a retail manager.  She is extremely organized when it comes to inventory and finances, always keeping track of every sale and how much the company made on each item.  Her attention to detail and customer service mindset are the reasons why she was quickly promoted to management twice, and we feel this is what sets us apart from a lot of other new retail businesses.
