Project Description
- Our podcast platform sets out to expand the conversations we have with our closest friends, with others, who care to broaden their perspective on sex, love, marriage and relationships, all based on what we call, Fempirical Evidence.
- African American women shouldn't just have a voice, they deserve a platform. With podcasting quickly becoming one of the most notorious and innovative mediums in broadcasting, investing in black women in media empowers a movement that is both necessary and long overdue.
- Podcasting is growing exponentially, but according to a study conducted by Tom Webster and his research team, as of 2018, only 38% of those listeners are women of color, 12% of which are African American. - Our company product is about giving women, especially women of color, a voice. We accomplish this by having the conversations people often stray away from; those necessary but uncomfortable conversations. But this podcast is also about fun and most importantly, encouraging women to love themselves and feel empowered.
- We are seeking funding in an effort creatively navigate some of the financial hurdles that come along with entrepreneurship. As single, millennial parents and entrepreneurs, we understand the importance of both offering and reaching out for support. The funds will be used to purchase recording equipment, pay for recording/engineering expenses, administrative expenses, travel costs and marketing.
- A one woman team that consists of myself, Quia Tarantino, womanist, audio engineer and writer.
