Meet our July Pay-It-Forward recipients
This month’s special Pay-It-Forward, sponsored by Caress, will feature women-owned businesses in the women’s health and wellness spaces that are positively impacting their communities every day.
Here’s why: A woman’s health is inextricably tied to her financial health, and to the economic health of the entire nation. The facts are clear: denial of reproductive rights keeps women in poverty, while access to those rights keeps them in the workforce, contributing, innovating and helping to build the businesses they work for as well as their own. According to The Institute for Women's Policy Research, reproductive health restrictions including abortion bans cost state and local economies $105 billion annually. Be Well, Sis is a wellness eco-system that empowers Black women with resources for healing mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Through its award-winning podcast, interactive community, and engaging event series, it's on a mission to make wellness more colorful and inclusive.
Sad Girls Club is both an online platform and in real life community committed to bring girls together who are battling mental illnesses. Since 2017 Sad Girls Club has been healing young black women globally by creating community, providing access to resources and shifting the narrative around mental wellness.
Menarche is a shame-free shopping experience for people with periods that makes managing your menstrual cycle more accessible by providing a lineup of safe period products and educational resources. Its mission is to educate, empower, curate, and promote the inclusion of menstruation in wellness.
