Mental health is one of the most prominent issues we face as a population in the United States and worldwide. It affects people of all ages, genders, education levels, incomes, and walks of life. Data shows that nearly one in five American adults suffer from a mental health disorder. Depression, anxiety, and panic disorders are some of the most common. Creating unique ways to address mental health through journaling and other forms of writing gives individuals space to process their thoughts and connect to their comfort level. Journaling can help individuals track daily symptoms, recognize triggers, practice positive self-talk, and identify negative thoughts and behaviors. It is a form of release that can greatly benefit an individual with mental health challenges. Journaling has proven popular and effective for treating clients experiencing anxiety, possibly because of an improved acceptance of negative emotions and a more helpful emotional response to stress (Baikie & Wilhelm, 2005; Ford et al., 2018).
Our Product/How we address the problem
Our guided journal will help individuals balance their mental and emotional well-being. The guided journal has prompts to help individuals focus on topics, express their thoughts freely, and create goals to move through over 30 days. You can take it anywhere and write any time of day or night. A guided journal can help reduce anxiety, regulate emotions, and encourage self-awareness.
What will funding do?
Funding will help with editing and publishing the journal. It will also help create workshops to help individuals understand the benefits of journaling and start creating the habit. Funding will also be essential for expanding services by providing educational opportunities about mitigating mental health issues, building awareness through workshops and webinars, and constantly creating content to continue supporting individuals as they navigate mental health issues and overall wellness.

FitLife Wellness, LLC was founded by Moniek Garside in 2017. Moniek took her love of helping others to create FitLife Wellness, focusing on incorporating mental and physical wellness. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she aims to use her knowledge and professional and clinical experience to help individuals, couples, and corporate teams recognize and overcome many of life's challenges. FitLife Wellness has a unique approach of incorporating wellness practices and a therapeutic approach that will allow clients to find balance in their mental and physical well-being. FitLife Wellness, LLC, a leader within the mental health community, is setting the standard through our continued commitment to providing accessible and affordable mental health and wellness services to our communities. We hope to break the stigma centered around mental health within our community. We aim to be mental health champions within the community, bridging the mental health gap between minorities, access to service, and quality care.
