IFW named Best Fundraising Model in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the Inaugural Anthem Awards
We are so excited to announce today that IFW was recognized in the Inaugural Anthem Awards with Gold, Best Fundraising Model in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.
Since our founding, IFW’s mission has been to close the funding gap for businesses. We launched our Fund Black Founders page in June 2020 to draw attention and dollars toward Black women crowdfunding on our platform. From there, we launched additional dedicated hubs featuring IFW’s stellar Hispanic & Latinx, Asian American Pacific Islander, and Queer women founders on Hispanic Heritage, AAPI Heritage, and Pride Months, respectively.
“Over 70% of IFW entrepreneur members are women of color founders,” said Olivia Owens, VP of Entrepreneur Success. “We launched these pages with the hypothesis, if you can find it, you can fund it—and it worked. We’ve seen hundreds of diverse women get funded since the inception of this campaign.”
The Anthem Awards is a new program by The Webby Awards honoring social good campaigns. Anthem received nearly 2,500 entries from 36 countries worldwide.
According to Jessica Lauretti, Managing Director of The Anthem Awards, “we launched this platform to show the world that all corners of our culture, from sports and entertainment to business leaders and celebrities, are all standing up to say, it is time for systemic change and that social good is what we value as a society.”
This year’s Anthem winners were selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences—and we’re in great company! Other winners include Naomi Osaka, The New York Times, Forbes, Meg Thee Stallion, and tons more. Winners will be celebrated at the Anthem Voices conference, followed by a virtual Awards Show on Monday, February 28, 2022.
