Who Is Decode Me Space, anyway?
Decode Me Space is the brainchild of Kathleen Mazurek, a designer and educator from Baltimore, Maryland. A Baltimore Women in Tech Microgrant has seeded the program in 2017 and additional funding will help the project build a greater presence in Baltimore City.
Our launch day at Open Works is September 16th 2017 from 12-2pm and the program has created so much buzz, we were invited to host ANOTHER sister event, the week afterwards! Since 2008, her work has focused on using technology and media exploration as bridges for visual communication and accessibility. She is dual certified in Art Education and Special Education and continues to find ways to blend the two practices in her programming.
She has developed and facilitated art and design education curriculum for elementary/middle school students through Digital Harbor Foundation, Kennedy Krieger Institute. Arts Every Day, Baltimore City Public Schools, Baltimore Office for Promotion and Arts and Art With a Heart.
She has collaborated with Jermaine Bell at Impact Hub to develop a youth showcase and April Danielle Lewis of Labbodies for a student performance art piece for Light City Baltimore.
Her work has been featured in Bmore Art and Technical.ly Baltimore.
