Kaylon Beck is a hospitality professional whose work is focused on revitalizing the community through events & programming and offering curated experiences to both travelers and locals who often feel underrepresented.
During her undergraduate studies at the University of Houston Hilton College for Hotel and Restaurant Management, Kaylon discovered her passion for hospitality and travel. She served as the treasurer for both the National Society for Minorities in Hospitality and Collegiate 100 Women. As a student she gained
much experience both interning and traveling with companies such as the Hilton, Aramark (Denali Park, Alaska), Landry’s Hospitality Group (Galveston, TX), and Music World Properties managed by Matthew Knowles. She has also gained a great amount of food and beverage experience working for Pappas restaurants, and both City Kitchen Catering and Wolf Gang Puck Catering. Upon graduating from the Hilton College, Kaylon worked for the Hotel & Lodging Association of Greater Houston where her primary task included membership services. Currently, Kaylon works full time in the non-profit sector and owns an event planning company - Beck&Call Events.
While an MBA student at Howard University School of Business, Kaylon decided to pursue her entrepreneurial goal of opening a bed & breakfast or boutique hotel within her community. As someone who values both travel and community and is passionate about helping travelers experience the best services throughout their destinations, she believes that this is something that is needed. Through her travel experiences and minimal findings of personable lodging accommodations, she has been able to point out the missing factor in most travelers planning process: the lack of both representation and retrospect.
