Camilla's work as an artist began in earnest after the loss of her mother when Camilla's son was only a tiny baby. Carol Chandler saw things in her daughter that Camilla had not seen in herself and encouraged her to become an entrepreneur and an artist. After her mother's death in 1999 Camilla began to transform her grief through colors and the process of painting by connecting with her community through art. Shared art experiences became a vehicle for transforming self pity into self healing through painting. By learning and sharing the stories of the people and places around her, Camilla began to fill her void and learn to live fully again through art and creativity. Camilla's art is all about telling stories of people and places through vibrant illustrations. Each place has an original story to tell and Camilla expresses these stories through brightly painted scenes with fun color names.
"Paint the Town by Numbers" is a project that is currently in the process of being manufactured and will be available in stores and online soon. One of the engaging aspects of Camilla's paint by numbers is the color palette that she creates to tell the stories and history of each place. Camilla accepts commissions from individuals, businesses, civic organizations…anyone who would like to share more about a place, a building or landmark that they love and want to promote. Each commission includes an original paint by numbers painting and the option to order as many kits as you would like.
Paint the Town by Numbers kits will include beautifully designed packaging featuring your custom designed color palette, a paint by number board, acrylic paint pots, and a brush. You may give your kits as corporate gifts, use them for event promotion, a fundraiser, wedding or party favors, or to simply build excitement for a place, building, or landmark that you want to share with the world.
Camilla is looking forward to meeting you and sharing a love of art and story with you!
