Samia is a workforce development and technology consultant who completed workforce programs like General Assembly and Platform by Per Scholas as an OSOW Youth to began a career in technology. By utilizing her technical skills to enhance placement practice and job pipelines over the last 3 years, she's helped secure over 300 job placements at organizations like Per Scholas, The Knowledge House & New York Maritime Innovation Center. During this time, she built a portfolio of clients for digital services and application development under her tech consultancy, Greater Good Technologies Inc. By leveraging her client's work with companies like MIT Civic Media Lab, Jobsfirst, Trellis, SUNY Maritime College, and others, she was able to continuously provide gainful employment to her alumni. This helped her in the formation of The Urban Wild, a nonprofit organization she launched with the goal of creating more sustainable, modern farms in food insecure communities and providing employment pathways into the green sector for young adults. She believes technical workforce development is a great lever for economic mobility and a viable solution for addressing systemic challenges, like food access and sustainability.
