A note from Caress

FROM ESI EGGLESTON BRACEY, EVP & COO, NA BEAUTY & PERSONAL CARE, UNILEVER

Women of Color Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners,

If the past few months have taught us anything, it's that now more than ever it’s imperative that the business community takes a stand against the ongoing systemic racism, economic injustice and institutional disparities that have plagued communities of color, particularly the Black community, for far too long. At Unilever, we have been listening and acting. We strongly believe that our purpose is to not only provide good quality products, but to also do good: for individuals, for the society we live in, and for our planet at large.

I am particularly proud of Caress and the partnership we’ve established with IFundWomen this year to launch IFundWomen of Color (IFWOC), a space dedicated to supporting and elevating women of color entrepreneurs, providing them with resources and a network of leaders who can support them as they start and grow successful businesses. We know that unfortunately, the disadvantages that women of color entrepreneurs disproportionately face are ever more present and only growing, that’s why this partnership is really special and close to my heart.

As the founding partner of IFWOC, Caress is committed to helping diverse entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life and in these critical times, we are also determined to help these ideas flourish. For this, we’re committing $1,000,000 over the next 2 years, starting with $500,000 in grants, this immediate relief will support 200 women of color entrepreneurs, already in the IFWOC community, with funding and IFWOC group coaching, mentorship, and connections needed to sustain their businesses.

Recognizing that financial resources can offer immediate relief, Caress is doing its part to support and inspire the communities that need it most.
