OUR MISSION

At Worthy Oui Cosmetics we believe in doing beauty the right way. To us that means doing what's best for the planet while giving our customers top quality ingredients and products.  Worthy Oui Cosmetics is the first 100% biodegradable cosmetic brand, we don’t carry any plastics or glass within our brand. Our mission is to bring truly sustainable packaging to an industry that relies heavily on plastic. We want to help consumers become more eco-conscious by giving them a biodegradable option.

THE PROBLEM

The cosmetic industry makes 500 billion dollars per year and 25 billion of that is spent on plastic packaging. 95% of that packaging is thrown out after just one use and goes directly into our landfills. It then sits in the landfills for 1,000 years until it is able to decompose. This leads to an increase in environmental issues such as soil and water contamination.

The Opportunity

Being the only 100% biodegradable cosmetic brand on the market causes endless opportunities for my brand from sustainable beauty lovers. The sustainable beauty community is growing every single day,  Millennials and Gen Z are realizing "that's just how things are done" isn't an acceptable excuse anymore. They are the future of beauty.

Many beauty lovers are demanding more sustainable options, with the rapid effects of global warming increasing everyday, the time for a 100% biodegradable cosmetic brand is NOW.

WHY CROWDFUNDING?

Securing funding as a  woman can be tricky especially as a black woman. Just last year women of color received less than 1% of capital.  Black women are leading the way when it comes to starting new businesses.

MEET THE CEO

I created Worthy Oui Cosmetics because as a makeup artist I saw a massive amount of plastic usage within the beauty industry. When I began to research for sustainable cosmetic brands that were 100% biodegradable and compostable I couldn't find one so I decided to create it myself. The 3 pillars of my brand are to remain biodegradable, vegan, and cruelty-free. Worthy Oui Cosmetics is all about bringing quality products to sustainable beauty lovers. Looking good while saving the planet? Yes please!
