R.A.R.E. Immersive

What is the R.A.R.E. Immersive Pilot Program?

Working with Hopes' R.A.R.E. Immersive pilot, in The Woodlands, Tx aims to revolutionize the way individuals experiencing domestic abuse or other violent traumas receive an initial evaluation and ongoing support.

By integrating Virtual Reality (VR) technology, we can reduce waitlists by offering self-guided assessments for risk factors, symptoms, and diagnostic impressions, covered by CPT code.   Post-assessment, the program provides psychoeducation with interactive VR scenarios to educate about the cycle of abuse, coping mechanisms, guided mindfulness sessions, and stress reduction techniques.

According to Rhitu Chatterjee, Health Correspondent for NPR.org.  Nearly 40% of psychologists reported that their waitlist has grown in the past year.

"We continue to see incredibly high demand for mental health services and an incredibly limited supply," says psychologist Vaile Wright, senior director of Health Care Innovation at the APA. "This is not a sustainable solution to addressing the mental health crisis in this country."

This approach offers an unprecedented level of personalization and engagement, facilitating early intervention and speeding the time to recovery.
