Expressing sympathy or condolences for a loved one is a stressful and uncomfortable experience. As a result, the typical actions after a person passes away are to do nothing or to send a one-time generic gift, like flowers. 

Wishbar solves this dilemma. We provide personalized advice and recommendations for well-wishers and help them choose sympathy gestures, gifts and experiences that match the needs of a family who just lost a loved one.

The US death care market is estimated to reach revenues of around $68 billion by 2023, growing at a CAGR of over 4% during 2017-2023. And these estimates are before COVID-19.

Think about this: An average funeral service is $8,000 to $10,000. Funeral flowers cost range from $50 to $250. Supporting a family's emotional and financial needs goes a lot farther than an impersonal gift - and is often less wasteful.

Wishbar is a trusted friend that helps well-wishers make better informed decisions and quickly and easily fulfill sympathy gifts, whether from our e-commerce store or from a pre-populated list from a family. We are seeking funding to purchase inventory for launch - a suite of sympathy cards - and activate the Shopify platform and integrations. While the amount we are seeking is not the full cost of our launch, we are putting in our personal savings because we believe this forum and marketplace is truly needed, now more than ever.

Suzanne Robitaille is the founder, and has enlisted several service partners in this endeavor. Her most important partner is her advisor and husband Gregory Papajohn, a venture developer in the financial services and fintech space.
