What moves you...Melanin Moves

We aim to connect, educate, and inspire members of the BIPOC community on the benefits of overall wellness. We believe wellness includes social justice initiatives to address mental health, nutrition and wellness practices to address our physical health, and passing these learnings down to the youth in our community.

We are closing the gap in resources for BIPOC folks to be well mentally, nutritionally, physically, and emotionally. Apart of the problem with enrolling BIPOC folks in healthy ways of living is their mistrust in the healthcare industry specifically when dealing with non BIPOC individuals. We have a global network of BIPOC teachers, doctors, therapist, social workers, etc who lead our workshops, trainings, and wellness expos as leaders in their respective fields. In short we educate the BIPOC community by securing qualified BIPOC individuals to lead the initiative.

We are seeking funding as we have rebranded and no longer function solely as a yoga based non profit. With this change and the pandemic, we have not be able to meet our normal revenue goals as we had to expand our team to bring the vision to life. We have a yearly operational fee of $72,000 with our current team. Our goal is to ensure that we have a team to be able to support our program events, workshops, and trainings.

We have a Board of Directors with five members, a Leadership team of three members, and three Program chairs with three initiative leads, and a volunteer base of seven individuals.

We are grateful for those who understand the importance and value adequate support for BIPOC wellness organizations as we can only be liberated when we are all well.
