Hi friends and family!
As the rain continues to pour down on us here in Chicago, I can't help but wonder "where is summer?" LOL.
While we are excited for the summer sunshine and fun times, I am flooded with joy over the amount of support all of you have poured out on behalf of Brown Babies Books.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
If you have donated to our fund, purchased a book or gift card, visited our tent/table at one of the recent community pop-up events, shared a social media post, or sent me words of support/encouragement - I see you and I feel the love.
Your support has allowed Brown Babies Books to get out there and meet our customers, discuss potential partnerships with local school librarians and teachers, and experience the pure joy and excitement that comes when a child sees a book that they've been wanting "OMG that's on my list!!"
We have 5 days left to go for this summer's fundraising; and I believe we will meet our goal. Your support has already allowed me to gather and purchase the following items:
* 10x10 canopy tent with walls
* A set of tent pole weights (to help keep the wind from blowing our tent up, up and away)
* New marketing materials to handout and post at events
* Branded table coverings
* A full portable power station to carry us through the times when we will not have access to a power source to keep our point of sale equipment running
* Outdoor flooring for our upcoming outdoor storytime event (Sundays on State Street - July 11th)
* A portable microphone amplifier - to help ensure that the little ones can hear me during our storytime event
.....and of course, ensuring that there are actually books available at each event!
As we look to the final days of our summer fundraiser - I want to be able to use any additional funds collected as a way to provide some well deserved school librarians and teachers with FREE books for their schools in the Fall.
So, keep sharing our posts and lookout for nomination forms to nominate your favorite Chicagoland ELA teacher or Librarian for some FREE books to diversify their classroom bookshelves this Fall.
