Project Description

Our mission is to provide a range of health and wellness services to our new community in a small Costa Rican beach town. We believe that by providing our services and helping to heal others we will ultimately contribute to the healing of a world that desperately needs healing.

From our perspective everyone needs more support these days with health and healing. Most people are disconnected from their true self and vitality and we are here to unite people back in touch with their highest self, nature, and provide healing from trauma, illnesses, and injuries.

Market opportunity

There is a large market in our small beach town community as well as our international online community. In person, there is a high demand for wellness services especially related to the Surfing lifestyle, as our town Nosara is a hub for surf and wellness activities. A growing number of vacationers, travellers, and Expats pass through and inhabit Nosara. Through online platforms we have access to endless people in need. We are currently using Instagram and Substack as our main avenues of communication.

What are we all about?

We are all about facilitating and educating around wellness with a focus on accessibility and authenticity! Together we will facilitate live music mediations, courses, and seminars that follow specific themes for embodiment and healing. Morven is starting-up her 1:1 Acupuncture practice, and currently has online Wellness Therapy sessions available for booking. Ceity offers mindful surfing lessons with the intent to move into trauma recovery surf therapy, and a longer-term goal of facilitating healing through creative expression and storytelling. She is also pursuing music and film with a similar intent to produce works that educate and invoke curiosity and empathy towards the themes of nature, wellness, and humanity.

We are seeking funding for our startup expenses and to support our livelihood as we build something very special. The two of us sold and donated the majority of our belongings and moved from Canada to Costa Rica at the end of 2021. It was a giant leap of faith to leave our comfortable lives behind and create a new life in the tropics. We are asking for donations because we don’t have the means to launch our projects to their fullest potential after sacrificing our jobs and stability to make this move.

From work permits to supplies, our expenses are looking larger than we had anticipated and we could use the help. After meeting our basic needs of safe housing and nourishment, our spending priorities are Costa Rica work permits and Spanish lessons in order to respectfully integrate into our new community, as well as acupuncture clinic supplies and funding for the Groundswell Community Project Surf Therapist certification. Additionally we would benefit from tech such as an iPad and camera.

Who are we?

We are Morven and Ceity, a sister duo on a mission to share our knowledge and gifts with the world in the form of health and wellness services.

Morven is a registered Acupuncturist and Wellness Therapist with a passion for deep healing and restoring balance in the body. She practices the art and medicine of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in the clinic, and Wellness Therapy through online consultations. With Chinese medicine as her main framework for healing and Western Holistic medicine as her complimentary system, she has a truly holistic approach.

Ceity is a young artist, musician, and surf instructor empowering people of all walks of life to get in the waves and connect with nature and their playful self. From music composition, singing, and dance to graphic design, filmmaking, and philosophy, she loves the subtleties of life, with creative expression as her purest gift to the world.

Together we share a passion for nature and healing, including all of the ways we express ourselves and care for the body, mind, and soul — and the planet we live on.

Future Endeavours

Our long term goal is to open a Wellness Centre to host wellness and healing retreats that offer a range of therapies including bodywork, surf therapy, food and herbal medicine, meditations, embodiment practices, art therapy, and educational workshops. We are passionate about helping others and offering affordable and fair services.

Ceity aspires to further her education in surf therapy with Groundswell Community Project’s Surf Therapy Facilitator Cohort training; a Certification in Music Technologies through the Victoria Conservatory of Music; and an Undergraduate in Film and Screen Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Morven looks forward to building her professional practice and continuing her education in Integrative Myofascial Acupuncture; taking Trauma healing expert Dr Gabor Maté’s courses: Masterclass for Healers and Compassionate Inquiry Masterclass; Pilates Teacher Training and more.

Thank you - by contributing to us you are supporting young women in business—but beyond that, you are contributing to the wellbeing of our clients and community as we work to make our offerings accessible to all in need.
