Project Description
The Fry Lane is a fry truck concept that is developed by a truck driver. I have been on the road as an OTR truck driver sense 1998 and have tasted a lot of food from many food trucks, restaurants, and truck stops all over the US. The one food that seems to have gone downhill is the French Fries. Over the last three years I’ve been playing around with how to fry the perfect fry. The one that is fluffy on the inside but crispy on the out. One that will hold up to the weight of toppings. One that I could eat all the time.
I have partnered with two other truck drivers to make this a reality. My team consists of two truck drivers, myself (also a truck driver) and a railroad mechanic.
My manager is a female truck driver who was forced to retire due to an accident. She got hit and her back won’t let her drive a big truck anymore, but she can cook. Another one of my team members is also a truck driver. He’s been on the road 30 years and is a major foodie. The third team member is great with people. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad until one of his eyes started to go blind. He is great with people and will be great front of house for our truck. All of my team has food handling and restaurant experience.
Our truck is currently being custom built, but I am here to try and get help with the launch. I’ve done a lot of leg work and have been saving everything I have extra. The trailer will be completed on the 27 of April 2022 and has a 30-day delivery expectation.
I am on here in hopes to be blessed with funding so that I’m not struggling upon launch. We are actively looking at our venues and venue choices including our NFL stadium. Food costs have gone up over the last month and we are saving money to try and prepare for that. I’ve got an estimated cost for the launch and am coming up shy of it.
I know this is long, but my dream is to start this truck and possibly get a second and be an example to my children that goal and dreams are achieved if you put in the effort. I aim to serve the best fries around.
Also, our whole concept is around the transportation theme of our name with food items such as The TC Fryway and The Fry 405, paying homage to the places our food concepts came from.

- Are fries all you are going to sell?
- Yes! There is a ton you can do with them, and if cooked correctly, are delicious.
- What type of oil do you use?
- My oil blend is our secret. However, no peanut oil is used.
- What type of topping will you be using?
- We will be 100% pork free. We will be focusing on beef and chicken, cheeses of a few different blends, and our house made sauces.
- How many people do you employ?
- I currently have a team of 3 wonderful people.
- Truck driver? Do you know what you are doing?
- I've gotten this a lot. Yes! I know what I am doing. All of my team has worked in or currently works in the restaurant industry. We all hold food handlers permits issued by the state of Missouri. I have a business degree and have done market research over the last three years. There has been many hours of study and research into this concept and its menu.
- Why do you want to start a food truck?
- I have had this concept start as a passion project. It quickly became reality, quickly being 3 years. I wanted to start it ultimately for my three kids. I have raised them while driving and want to get out of driving a truck. I want to set the example that if you put effort into a dream, you can make it a reality. And they have tasted many of my recipes and are probably fried out but keep encouraging me through this process. Also, I just like a good French Fry, but no one has them.
