Project Description

The Well is a faith based sober living environment dedicated to assisting women in gaining and maintaining sobriety through building a relationship and dependency on Christ. We foster an environment that will help women in substance abuse recovery to grow spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, and socially.  We offer affordable, safe, home like environments for women in substance abuse recovery.  We serve as a transitional environment for women exiting rehabilitation programs.  As of January 2019, Arizona had an estimated 10,007 people experiencing homelessness.  The Well will assist the community in reducing this number by providing housing to displaced or homeless women in substance abuse recovery.  We offer recovery supportive housing to women who have limited financial resources, challenged credit scores, and criminal records.   Guest will not be required to pay the normal fees associated with securing independent housing.  Guest credit scores and criminal backgrounds will not be held against their ability to move into the homes.  We are seeking funding to assist with securing a 1-year lease for our first two properties, purchasing furnishings and home good items, and monies for the operational needs of the houses.

The Campaign FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is a sober living house?

Sober living houses, also called sober homes and sober living environments, are facilities that provide safe housing and supportive, structured living conditions for people exiting drug rehabilitation programs. SLHs serve as a transitional environment between such programs and mainstream society.

What is a faith-based sober living house?

The main difference between Christian and secular sober living homes is that Christian sober living stipulates that residents live by the principles taught in the Bible and by the examples set forth by Jesus Christ.    This is not to discriminate against non-believers, but it allows like-minded individuals to feel safe and supported as they work to incorporate the teachings of Christ into their treatment and sober lives.

Why are the homes not co-ed?

The Well understands that women have unique needs and concerns when it comes to their recovery and that for many, gender specific women’s sober living is a crucial element of a successful aftercare program.
