Who we are & where we're going?

2020 has changed all of our lives. How we view ourselves, the world, and how we now approach the future has inevitably changed. There has been a consistent theme for this year, and this is: New Circumstances & Versatility. 

Making lemonade out of lemons.

We've seen the worst and the best out of people, and we're still navigating this new world, day-to-day. Those who have decided to roll with the punches are now starting to emerge as the new movers and shakers of the future. 

So, who are these new movers and shakers and how does Style Intent come into play?

What's new?! Better yet, the question is who is new? The young, ambitious, creative and gorgeous business woman is who!

The founder of Style Intent recognized that there is a new generation of women emerging and they are young, black, creative, and gorgeous. They know what they want and aren't waiting on anyone to give them permission to go after their dreams and look good while doing it! 

They've not only shared their journeys of becoming entrepreneurs and business owners, but they also shared how they've turned their experience into thriving businesses. Their creative endeavors have garnered them the titles of millionaires in some cases, and their followings have taken note!

So, what's the problem? 

• Finding suitable clothing to wear while working from home has become frustrating and complicated due to the line between comfort and professionalism being blurred and lacking functionality. 

• Shopping in-store is now an unpleasant experience due to having to wear masks, social distancing, potential social unrest, and the inconvenience of stores not being properly restocked.

• Finding quality black-owned clothing stores that cater to the tastes, needs, and preferences of the African- American business women. 

What’s the solution?

Style Intent  provides women with comfortable, stylish, and versatile pieces  that allow her to effortlessly transition through the day. Our clientele are busy creating and running their businesses, so they don't have time to change multiple times . Style Intent is focused on carrying products that are casually elegant, functional, while being subtly sexy. Just one of our garments can allow our customers to conduct Zoom meetings, social-distanced events, errands, or simply hanging out with friends.  

Our website: StyleIntent.com is not only shopper-friendly it  allows customers to engage and create a sense of community with blog posts and YouTube channel.  Our online community is a space to find support from like-minded women and shop from the comforts of one’s home. Style Intent is the ambitious woman’s retail therapy. 

The Founder, Desárāi Monét, sought to create a product that understands, caters to, and listens to the needs and wants of the African- American business woman.  market. Black business women deserve rich colors, quality fabrics and materials, and great construction in their garments. Our clientele  is used to making statements. Whether she is making it with her hair, nails, makeup and/or jewelry. Her appearance is how she chooses to present herself in this world.

OUR AUDIENCE?

Our audience consists of African- American women ages 24-34. These women either have a formal education or specialized knowledge & experience in a creative field. These creative fields include video editing, blogging, social media content, beauty & fashion, marketing & advertising, branding, etc.  Social media is a huge part of this audience’s life, and is not only where some work, but is also how they socialize. Working in major U.S. markets such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and New York. 

Our audience takes pride in their workspace and home. They work mostly from home, and  their physical appearance is important no matter the setting. These young and creative women lead very busy lives and often use several scheduling methods/ tools to keep themselves on track. They take care of themselves and enjoy self-care days. 

Our audience treat themselves with care, and expensive or luxurious things are meant to celebrate themselves and their wins. They are beautiful, expressive, intelligent, and intuitive women. They value their time and the people they allow into their space. They have a sense of community amongst each other, and trade knowledge between one another. They've actually positioned themselves as the next class of millionaires.

The Founder

Hi, I'm Desárāi! I'm the founder of Style Intent. The inspiration behind this clothing brand comes from my life experience. I am a former Professional Dancer and Entertainer. Since the Entertainment Industry shutdown I've had to go back to the drawing. I had to adjust to our new circumstances just as everyone else did. I was actually ready to adjust. So much that I was inspired to pursue a passion that I did not have the time to solely focus on. I wanted to get back into fashion, digital merchandising, and make women feel feminine, attractive, stylish, and most of all empowered. 

During my time in the Entertainment Industry I came into contact with amazing stylists, makeup artists, designers, and models that'd make me wish I were in their shoes for a moment. I love dancing but as a creative your brain yearns to do new things. I'd dabble in fashion and working on several clothing lines, but never had the chance to take it seriously. 2020 gave me the vision to pursue this newest venture coupling it with all of the knowledge and experience that I've gained over the past 10 years of being in the Entertainment Industry. This collection was created for young unconventional black women, like me, to help navigate this new world that is forming. Everything is very uncertain, but the one thing that will always remain is the understanding that us black women are our sister's keeper. This brand is here to support, nurture, and celebrate our Black Girl Magic!
