Stolen Girls...Stolen Futures

Journey to Destiny is a United States based 501c3 organization established with the mission to provide a safe and nurturing place for girls ages 7-15 that has been rescued from human trafficking or forced child prostitution and eradicating human trafficking by empowering survivors. Journey to requests funding to support The Residential and Vocational Learning Program, a program that houses victims of human trafficking.

There is a significant number of young girls ages 7-15 that are forced into child prostitution or human trafficking. After girls are rescued, they need shelter. In Dominican Republic, according to the DHS registry, there are approximately 150 girls taken from their village and forced into human sex trafficking daily. Of those 150 girls, 75% are recovered and experience social/emotional issues and lack of education. Journey to Destiny’s Programs will address this need by providing housing and vocational education to the young ladies. The goal is for the girls to learn self-sufficiency, productive life-skills, and to become socially aware of how to navigate in their communities with limited support.
