Project Description

Learning & Fun

What is the mission of your company or project?

The mission of Small Steps Daycare is to provide a healthy learning environment  at an affordable cost.

  • Describe the problem you are solving.  Small Steps Daycare is currently  operating at half its capacity.  Funding is needed to bridge the gap with maintaining affordable care and our expenses. As I pivot my business, I strive to keep more services onsite.  Completing our commercial kitchen with cut our cost and help provide nutritious meals on-site.
  • What is the market size/opportunity? Anyone needing childcare or remote learning childcare. We accept state-issued vouchers, vouchers issued from homeless agencies, Department of Children and Families, and private paying customers.
  • What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? Small Steps  Daycare provides Part-Time and Full-Time child care services and sells reusable masks.  Our center caters to families by providing meals to children, formula to infants and extra clothing. Parents only need to provide diapers and wipes.  This lifts a huge burden off the families.
  • Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding? The funding of $60,000 will help maintain the daycare expenses and keep our rates low.  It will also be used to complete our commercial kitchen.  The benefits of making our own meals will be substantial savings.
  • Who is on your team? We are a team of 8 professionals from all walks of life.  We can accommodate families that speak Spanish, Khmer, and Portuguese.  Cultural awareness and accepting the legitimacy of differences is a core value of Small Steps Daycare Center.
  • How can you support the project 'Small Steps are Best'?  Any donation would be appreciated and used wisely.  You can purchase and follow our reusable masks @Granny.Grays on Instagram, Follow @Smallstepsarebest on Instagram and follow Small Steps Daycare on Facebook.  Thank you for your support and stay safe.
