ABOUT US

SHUCK is a lifestyle brand that gives back. When people wear our SHUCK apparel, we hope they feel similar to when they are at the beach: happy, carefree and ready for a day of fun. 

While we are not solving a problem, we are trying to preserve the world! A portion of our proceeds will go back to nonprofits that support beach and sea life. We hope to choose a different nonprofit each quarter.

We started our company with 100 SHUCK hats and they sold out in the first two weeks via the web site and our local summer festival. The feedback we received has been extremely positive and people really want more of our branded items. Our friends have told us that they were stopped on the street (and at a water park) and asked where they got the hat! The logo seems to be very appealing to many, so we feel that we are on the right track to expand our branded offerings.

WHAT WE PLAN TO DO WITH THE FUNDS WE RECEIVE

• The next  step is to purchase and sell high quality, all-weather performance/sun shirts with SPF built in.
• We are also seeking funding to help purchase more branded items, as well as help with our digital marketing efforts (starting with Facebook and Instagram ads.)
• Our long-term goal is to make golf shirts and sun dresses (and more) with this versatile fabric. With funds raised, we will start sourcing materials and drafting sketches for our sundresses and golf shirts.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

SHUCK was founded by Lauren Fish and Laurie Bonner through their mutual love of the beach, sun, casual wear, Nantucket, and of course oysters!

Lauren

Lauren has more than 20 years of marketing and PR experience working for clients that include every area from professional sports teams to nonprofits. She will use that experience to lead the marketing efforts for SHUCK. Lauren is a mom of two children and a wife.

Laurie 

Laurie is a creative professional with over 20 years experience in art production. She lives at the beach with her husband and two kids. A few years ago, while working on a local oyster farm, Laurie became fascinated by the ecological benefits of aquaculture, specifically with how oysters are helping to improve our oceans. She will focus on Shuck's creative direction and its charitable givings.
