Senora Pastries for the People!

Our founder, a descendant of Puerto Rico and mother of three under 5, has always loved baking. Her first instrument was an easy bake oven which she used to deliver treats to her neighbor friend undergoing cancer treatment.

Seeing the positive influence of her baking, she spent her teenage years channeling herself into her baking. Ever since, she has loved to bring her creations to family events and gatherings, using her treats as a way to bring people together.

Finally in July 2020, she decided to start Senora Pastries, utilizing the nickname her family had been calling her for years “Senora.” As a mother of color, she wanted to show her children that women belong in business, following their passions. She creates each treat by hand and to order so she is able to put love into every bite.

It is her hope to fundraise enough money to expand the business by offering hot, ready to eat food. As a farmers market veteran she noticed this area of food service was not being met. Doing a trial run she sold some pupusas and sold out before they day was half way done.

Going forward she wants to invest in obtaining the certification and equipment necessary to sell hot food locally around Long Island. 

Starting off with Pupusas. This regional dish from El Salvador is a favorite in the family and is naturally gluten free. It is a stuffed tortilla that is topped with fermented vegetables and red sauce. It is a perfect combination of flavors and can be eaten at any time of the day.
