Approximately three thousand children age out of the foster system in North Texas each year.  The foster system leaves a lasting impact on their life.

 

THE PROBLEM

Education

 

For each youth that ages out of foster system, it costs our society $410,659. For each youth that does not receive a college degree, it reduces their lifetime earnings by $765,000.

 

1 in 2 will not receive a high school diploma by age nineteen and only twenty-seven percent will receive a diploma or equivalent by age twenty-six.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Early Parenthood
