Brand Ethos

  • Nora Gardner is a modern upscale brand, designed and manufactured in NYC, founded to solve the wardrobe needs of aspiring women in the workplace. It specializes in a women's collection featuring a core assortment of dresses, suiting, pants, and knits tat are designed to build an adaptable wardrobe for busy working executive women.
  • The company understands the challenges faced by ambitious career-oriented women and has designed a collection around their needs - not fashion trends. 

The Problem We Are Solving

  • With the status of work dress codes becoming increasingly ambiguous, women need support now more than ever. There is a lack of trust in new online brands, and working women have no time to shop. Life is gearing up quickly, and for many this is extremely overwhelming. Women need support from someone who understands their needs. 

The Market Size and Business Opportunity

  • Market size/opportunity: In the US Between 2015 and 2017, the number of women in the US earning more than $100,000 per year increased by more than 80% annually. These women need help getting dressed for work every day; they need to be empowered to focus on their careers.  Specifically, there are currently more than 20 million women in the US in our target demographic and we have a strong grasp on costs to acquire new customers. 
  • With a CEO with a background in finance, we have a strong grasp of our financials. Our business has a highly profitable future.

  The New Services We Offer:

  • Nora Gardner is becoming a digital resource that meets the needs of our customers where they are now.  We are a one-stop shop for digital styling for professional women. Zoom in and get styled from head to toe with one of our experienced stylists. We have been testing our new strategy over the past few months and have perfected our process: Clients schedule a Zoom appointment, fill out a style survey and work one-on-one with a stylist for 20-30 minutes and build a relationship and a wardrobe. We are forging relationships with our clients this way, almost like a therapist. 
  • As of April, Stylist Sales are now more than 50% of our monthly sales. We are thrilled to be proving this concept. We are uniquely qualified to solve the problem at hand: We have a proven track record. Prior to 2020, our brand had a New York City Flagship store off Madison Avenue, a store in Boston on Newbury Street, a quickly growing e-commerce business and wholesale distribution with over $1 million sales annually.
  • With eight years of experience working directly with our customers, we have intimate knowledge of the market and a tested product with excellent review. Our clients include national news anchors, CEO, elected officials, and ambassadors who come to us for styling. 

Use of Proceeds

  • Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding? We will use the funding to hire a full-time website technologist to revamp our website to best assist our customers with the styling program, hire a digital marketing lead, a team of stylists, new inventory, and digital advertising in order to acquire 5,000 new customers and grow our business to $10 million in sales.

The Team

  • Our team consists of Nora Gardner, a former Investment Banker, Claire Allen, a former junior designer at Oscar de la Renta, Jane Hayami, a former technical designer at Marchesa, Cecilia Stella, a digital marketing an e-commerce coordinator (and others), and of note on our advisory board is Sally Frame Kasaks, the former CEO of Anne Taylor.
