Project Description
I have been starting a private tutoring business which goes to the student, rather than one where the student has to come to you; I call it “Concierge Tutoring.” Most tutoring businesses run from a single location which students have to go to to receive tutoring, but in my experience, there is a high demand for a tutor who can go to the student’s home. Many high achieving students are very involved in extracurricular activities and thus have a hard time being able to make it to a specific location for tutoring multiple times per week, so I believe that a tutoring service that students can use for any subject they need help with in school and that can work with the busy student’s schedule will thrive.

- How did the business start?
- For the last eight years I have been working towards a career in Higher Education while also doing private tutoring on the side. About three years ago, during the pandemic, I realized that I really enjoyed and thrived while working with individual students. When I can focus on one student, rather than teaching to a whole class where every student learns differently, I can hone in on how the student I am tutoring learns and teach to them specifically. As a result, I decided to leave my position at the University of Nevada and started to pursue Private Tutoring full time.
