Ottomatic Threads Crowdfunding Campaign
As we continue to grow, we need to secure a facility to allow us to practice responsible manufacturing as we expand our product offerings.
Project Description
- The purpose of Ottomatic Threads is to provide all women with nature-inspired activewear that fits and performs in even the most extreme conditions.

- We see two huge issues in the outdoor apparel space that we want to solve: 1) Current outdoor clothing and gear is developed for men and hardcore athletes, leaving out the vast majority of female customers who enjoy the outdoors recreationally. 2) There is a large amount of clothing that is produced in less than ideal situations and contribute to the extreme pollution produced by the apparel industry. Ottomatic Threads has big plans to address both these issues and securing a manufacturing facility would allow them to do this.

- Just under half of Americans participate in outdoor activities on a regular basis, of that percentage, 46% are female ages 6+ (Outdoor Industry Participation Report 2016). By looking at the US Census 2019 estimates, that equates to just over 75 million people that could benefit from the products created by Ottomatic Threads.

- Ottomatic Threads recently expanded our size offering from Small to 4X; in 2021 we plan to offer clothing for girls too! We have big plans to expand our product offerings to base layers, outerwear, packs, and sleeping bags in the future to best meet our customers needs.
- We are seeking funding so all our product development can take place under one roof and so we can have 100% control of the manufacturing process. We are big believers in responsible manufacturing and in using technology that will allow us to eliminate waste, help our environment, and provide the best possible product for our customer. By keeping all stages of production together, we can have better communication, work more closely with the customers in product testing, and have more control over the production timeline.
- Currently, Ottomatic Threads is made up of a team of two! Alisa Otto and her intern work with a variety of contractors to create all product.
