Project Description
In Midland, there is a lack of opportunities for parents to come together with the focus of shared experiences and creativity fostering relationships. One way to do this is over a cup of coffee or non-alcoholic drinks with little ones around. It’s one of the most enjoyable experiences when a parent can converse with other parents while watching their kids play in a fun and safe environment. We need more community based options for families to gather, experience and enjoy company outside of the West Texas wind and ipads.
To create such an environment, we have considered all things such as noise levels, design, layout, and immersive experiences to share space, but still remain separate. We are developing a coffee shop that looks into the everyday process of a screen-printing and design company. Much like you would see how a Krispy Kreme donut is being made. We want to invite others to witness creativity in the everyday world. The coffee shop will have a viewing area that looks into the print shop and customers can sign up for an immersive experience to tour, learn, and print their own shirt.
A few things that make this a unique experience are:
The Kid Experience: Offering a special kids centered menu such as coffee (dairy and dairy free based flavored drinks for kids hot or iced), spritzers, lemonades, etc. along with small tables for kids to draw and converse just like their parents. Along with toddler time available in the space next to the coffee shop.
The Coffee Experience: A place that feels like you have been transformed into a different world. Warm and inviting. Coffee is something that like many other drinks has a lot of elements, from tasting notes to pairing. Coffee is unique to each individual that tries a cup. In 2020, we began working on small batch simple syrups for coffees that would
transcend our coffee to another level. We take the unique flavor profiles of the coffee beans and pair them with a syrup that will take you on an adventure. We also believe in giving people the opportunity to have great coffee at home and began bottling our syrups so that people could enjoy the same coffee shop experience at home every morning.
The Immersive Printing Experience: Screen-printing is a process that involves many steps. We are going to take people through the process by teaching them a small part of screen printing history, show them the process of printing, and at the end, printing their own shirt and sending it through the conveyor dryer and leaving with a little part of printing history and pride in printing their own shirt.
The Creativity Experience: Currently, we are a fully functioning print and design company. Offering services such as screen printing, embroidery, and graphic design. Workman by Design started out as a design agency and expanded into the print world. Design has always been top priority to give our clients unique and custom design in brand identities, websites, t-shirts, and much more. Every part of what we do centers around shared experiences and creativity.
The funding raised through this campaign will go towards the build out, the experiences, and staffing. Helping to give us a solid foundation to create unique experiences for you and your family in Midland.
